Focus Series on Patagonian Solar Eclipse 2020 - call for contributions
On December 14, 2020 a total solar eclipse was visible roughly between 13.00 and 13.30 (local time) in Argentinean and Chilean Patagonia. This provided an extraordinary opportunity to promote Sun-Earth system science and increase public awareness on the main scientific problems and methods in the area. Mainly, this total solar eclipse provided the perfect opportunity to update statistics and do research on experiences taking place specifically in South America and during spring or summer performing truly cross-disciplinary research.
With this Focus Series on Patagonian Solar Eclipse 2020, we seek original research articles that cover the broad range of events related to the December 2020 total solar eclipse, from the Earth’s surface through the Earth's upper atmosphere and the solar atmosphere. The issue is co-Guest Edited by Laura Morales and Gabriela Nicora.
